Number to Words Converter

Write amounts in words for cheques and forms.

About this number to words converter

Writing an amount in words is required on cheques, invoices, demand drafts and legal forms. This converter supports the Indian numbering system, which groups digits as thousand, lakh and crore, and the international system with million and billion. Pick Indian Rupees, Pakistani Rupees or US Dollars to get the correct currency and fractional unit, such as paise or cents, with the word Only added at the end.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste a number, with or without commas.
  2. Choose the numbering system and currency.
  3. Copy the words into your cheque, invoice or form.

Tips and good to know

On cheques, write the amount in words and in figures, and make sure they match. Use the Indian system for lakh and crore amounts and the international system for million and billion. Adding the word Only at the end, as this tool does, makes it harder to add extra words after the amount.
