Find and Replace helps you clean up text without opening a word processor. Matches are highlighted live in the preview, so you can see exactly what will change before you press Replace All. Turn on Match case to treat Apple and apple as different, Whole word to avoid changing part of a longer word, or Regex for patterns. For example, the pattern \d+ matches any run of digits, and in Regex mode you can reuse captured groups in the replacement with $1.
Before replacing, check the match count to be sure you are changing what you expect. Tick Whole word to avoid changing part of a longer word, and Match case when capital letters matter. In Regex mode, characters such as a dot or a bracket have special meanings, so turn Regex off for plain text.
