Add Watermark to PDF

Stamp text like CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT on your PDF.

About this add watermark to pdf

A watermark marks a document as confidential, draft, copy or approved. This tool stamps your text across the selected pages using adjustable size, color, opacity and angle. Choose a single centered mark, or tile it across the whole page. The watermark is drawn into the page content, so it appears in any viewer and cannot be dragged away like an annotation. Use a low opacity so the original text stays readable.

How to use it

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Enter your text and adjust size, opacity, angle and color.
  3. Pick centered or tiled, then press Add watermark.

Tips and good to know

Keep opacity between 15 and 30 percent for a mark that is visible without hiding the text. A 45 degree angle is the classic choice for DRAFT and CONFIDENTIAL. Tiled marks are harder to crop out, while a centered mark looks cleaner. Check the first page of the result before you send the file.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use an image or logo?

This version supports text watermarks only.

Can the watermark be removed later?

It is part of the page content, so removing it needs editing software. Keep your original file.
